HyTrust will add encryption to its cloud security software following its acquisition of HighCloud Security this week.
HyTrust Inc. already enforces access controls at the management layer of virtual environment so that only authorized users have access to VMs. HighCloud offers encryption of cloud workloads with key management that gets handled at the customer site – an important factor for security-conscious companies considering Infrastructure as a Service.
The two can already be used together, but HighCloud’s software will be integrated into HyTrust to make encryption and key management invisible to the end user, according to Eric Chiu, HyTrust CEO in a blog post about the acquisition.
